Auditions for Wild Thyme Players’ Second Annual ‘Duels & Desserts’

The Wild Thyme Players will hold auditions for “Duels & Desserts 2” on Saturday, July 21 from 3:00 to
5:00 PM and on Monday, July 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church off Merchants Drive in
North Knoxville.

The performance will take place September 15 in the World’s Fair Park Amphitheater. The second annual fundraiser for Wild Thyme’s stage combat training program, “Shake, Rattle & Role,” will feature
several excerpted fight scenes and a swashbuckling original one-act play based on “The Three Musketeers.”

The auditions are open to all interested individuals aged 16 and over, including seniors and persons with disabilities.

No experience with stage combat is necessary, though some movement or choreography experience (e.g. martial arts, dance, or gymnastics) is useful. Actors will train in a variety of weapons and fighting styles including broadsword, epee, quarterstaff, knife & unarmed stage combat.

Nine roles are available for the one-act, including several that do not require fighting. Headshots and resumes are helpful, but not required. No appointment
is necessary, but allow at least 20 minutes to participate in a group movement demonstration. Please wear comfortable, athletic clothing, and come prepared to move. All training and equipment will be provided. “Shake,
Rattle & Role” instructors are members of and train with the Society of American Fight Directors. For more information, call 325-9877 or email director@wildthymeplayers.org or visit www.wildthymeplayers.org.
