Cumberland Mountain Industries benefit in Tazewell

There will be a benefit for Cumberland Mountain Industries at the CMI cafeteria, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 15, and everyone is invited to attend.

The event is a soup bean supper and gospel singing, and there will be something for everyone. The menu will consist of soup beans, cornbread, onions, fried potatoes and kraut and wienies. Drinks and desserts can be purchased separately. The cost is $5.

The CMI cafeteria, located at 1214 Cedar Ford Road in Tazewell.  The benefit  is sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America, Chapter 16972, Tazewell.

In addition to the good food, there will be a cake walk and auction. Up for auction will be a custom Windsor-style chair handcrafted by David Wright, a chair donated by England Outlet Store and other items provided by local businesses.

Entertainment, beginning at 6 p.m., will be provided by the Heavenly Heirs and True Gospel.

“We urge everyone to please come out and support our adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” said director Steve Minton.
