Crazy Cupcake to Host First Ever Cupcake Eating Contest
Dessert lovers will flock to Jonesborough over the weekend as one of the popular Downtown bakeries is set to host the first ever Cupcake Eating Contest on Sat., Aug. 11 as part of the We Dig Jonesborough Cash Mob and event series.
Sponsored by The Crazy Cupcake, the fast-paced competition will include categories for children and adults. The coveted first place honors in the adult category will go to who can eat three cupcakes the fastest. In the children’s category (for ages 4 to 10), contestants will compete by eating the most mini cupcakes the quickest.
The Crazy Cupcake will also be celebrating the bakery’s Second Year Anniversary in Jonesborough, and has already received several notaries and awards including 2012 Best of the Tri-Cities: Best Dessert and Best Bakery.
The contest will take place in front of the bakery, located at 135 E. Main St. in Jonesborough with prizes for area Jonesborough businesses. To register, or for additional information, contact 913.4497 or

The second Jonesborough business selected for the “We Dig Jonesborough” Cash Mob is Gracious Designs. The cash mob will take place on Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. There will also be extended downtown shopping hours on Aug. 10 until 8 p.m.
