Historic Rugby’s Appalachian Writers Series presents best-selling North Carolina mystery writer Vicki Lane at 7:00 p.m. (eastern) Saturday, July 21, in the Rebecca Johnson Theater in the Historic Rugby Visitor Centre.
There will be a book signing following her presentation and copies of her novels will be available for sale. Admission is free.
Ms. Lane’s novels are set in the western North Carolina mountains, where her leading character, Elizabeth Goodweather, lives on a mountain farm that is very much like the one Vicki shares with her husband near Marshall, North Carolina. Through references to the history of the region, newcomers, old timers, and mountain traditions, she weaves stories that hold the readers’ attention to the last page. With careful attention to detail and a thorough understanding of mountain ways, her characters and plots make the reader feel like they’re living the story.
