The 2nd annual 5K Run for the Red will be held Saturday, April 21 at Panther Creek Park. The run/walk is suitable for beginners and experienced runners of all ages. Registration is $15.
“We are looking forward to another successful event,” said Red Cross of America, Lakeway Area Chapter board chair Terri Conduff. “This will become a signature Red Cross fundraiser and the support from the community is much appreciated.”
Participants in the 2011 Run for the Red included local runners and some from as far away as Atlanta who were interested in the Panther Creek course.
All proceeds from Run for the Red will benefit the ARC Lakeway Chapter, to sustain its disaster relief program and community education programs. The recent theft of the chapter’s disaster relief trailer — which contained $30,000 in supplies — underscores the need for financial support from the community.
