150th Emancipation Celebration Planning Meeting – Greeneville

Echoes of Emancipation: One Region, Many Stories

The African American Heritage Alliance of East Tennessee, the George Clem Multicultural Association, and the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site are hosting a community brainstorming meeting this Thursday to plan for a 2013 celebration and commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.

The meeting will be held from 2-4 pm at the newly renovated Negro Women’s Civic Club at 326 Davis Street, Greeneville, TN. The meeting is open to anyone interested in helping generate ideas for the 2013 conference whose theme is “Echoes of Emancipation: One Region, Many Stories.” For more information go to aahaonline.net or call Dr. Beth Vanlandingham at 865-471-3323.
